Rust Ranch occupies the center of this remote landscape where the drainages of the Edwards Plateau converge near the boundary of Kimble and Menard counties. The terrain is defined by the headwaters of W Las Moras Cr in the north and the winding course of Bear Cr and its tributaries across the southern half of the sheet. Named springs, such as Gentry Springs, indicate the vital water sources that have supported ranching operations in this part of the Texas Hill Country for generations.
