Fishing Cr and its many tributaries, including Sam Br and Puncheon Cr, carve a complex network of ridges and hollows through this central Kentucky landscape. The area is defined by its numerous small settlements and family-named terrain features, such as Higgins Flat and Jacksonville Ridge. The eastern portion of the map is dominated by the corridor along Route 27, connecting Science Hill and Pulaski with the nearby community of Norwood. This transportation artery contrasts with the more isolated western ridges, where Kingbee Ridge and Bethel Ridge rise above deeply incised valleys like Dumpling Hollow and Copper Hollow. Geologic and local landmarks like High Rock and The Narrows near the southern boundary suggest a landscape of significant relief, while Spaw Cemetery Rd indicates the presence of established family roots in the more rural reaches of the county near Kingbee.
