Scipio Lake dominates the central basin of this high-desert landscape, situated between the Pahvant Range to the west and the Valley Mountains to the east. The terrain is defined by deep drainages such as Wild Goose Canyon, Loafers Canyon, and the uniquely named Hans Pumpernickle Canyon. This 2017 survey reveals the intricate network of forest roads and spurs that provide access to the Fishlake National Forest, including Loafers Spur and the Rock Canyon/Cedar Spr Spur. Toward the south, the settlement of Maple Grove is situated near the Left Fork Rock Canyon, while the eastern portion of the map follows the intersection of the Millard, Sanpete, and Sevier county lines. The geography transitions from the flat expanse of Round Valley and the banks of Ivie Cr to the prominent heights of Dairy Knoll and Three Knolls.
