The southern coast of the Kenai Peninsula is defined here by the meeting of ice and tide within the protected boundaries of Kenai Fjords National Park. The landscape is dominated by glacial activity and deep maritime inlets, most notably where the Yalik Glacier feeds toward the waters of the Gulf of Alaska. Steep coastal topography creates a complex shoreline of protected waters such as Yalik Bay and Home Cove.
