Kenai Fjords National Park and the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge converge at the southern tip of the Kenai Peninsula in this 2017 survey. The landscape is defined by the massive Yalik Glacier and the glacial drainage of the Nuka River, which flows south into the tidal waters of Beauty Bay. This wilderness area shows no established roads or settlements, highlighting the primitive coastal environment where steep peaks like Storm Mtn and Mt Diablo drop directly into the Pacific waters of the West Arm Nuka Bay. Small inlets such as Shelter Cove and named landmarks like Moss Point provide the only geographic reference points along this deeply indented shoreline. The presence of Ferrum Cr indicates the drainage patterns from the high alpine ridges that dominate the western portion of the quadrangle.
