Sevenmile Hill rises above the landscape of Uvalde County in this 2012 survey, overlooking a drainage network defined by a series of intermittent sloughs and creek beds. The hydrology of the area is particularly complex, featuring named segments such as Cooks Slough, Boon Slough, and Taylor Slough, which eventually converge toward the Leona River in the east. Willingham Lake and the Eightmile Waterhole serve as rare permanent or semi-permanent water markers in an otherwise seasonally dry environment.
