Surveyed townships of the Alaska wilderness are defined by the Public Land Survey System boundaries of T8n R5e, T8n R6e, T7n R5e, and T7n R6e. This 2016 topo study captures a terrain of extreme isolation in the Shungnak A-4 SE quadrangle, where the absence of named settlements, roads, or man-made structures highlights the untouched nature of the landscape. The topographic contours and wetlands data reveal an intricate network of unnamed water bodies and drainages that characterize this portion of the Yukon-Koyukuk region. In lieu of towns or industry, the map serves as a primary reference for the pure physical geography and township demarcations established by the Bureau of Land Management.
