The Dos Cabezas Mountains dominate the northeastern portion of this quadrangle, rising sharply above the eastern edge of the Sulphur Springs Valley. High points including Simmons Peak and Silver Peak overlook a network of deep drainages such as California Gulch and Mescal Canyon. Water sources are critical in this arid landscape, evidenced by the presence of Muskhog Spring, Speaks Spring, and Apache Spring scattered throughout the mountain slopes.
