The Cedar Mountains dominate this 1979 survey of the high desert along the Nye and Mineral County line. At the center of the mountain range, the small settlement of Simon sits near the base of Simon Mtn, surrounded by evidence of early mining activity such as the Warrior Mine and various unnamed Mines and Prospects. This rugged landscape was shaped by a reliance on scattered water sources, including Simon Spring, Lou Spring, and Hundinger Spring.
