The international boundary between Canada and the United States defines the northern extent of this landscape, where high-altitude ice fields and steep drainages dominate the Alaska Haines Borough. The southern flow of the Jarvis Glacier and Little Jarvis Glacier feeds into Jarvis Creek, carving through the terrain between prominent peaks such as Mt McDonell and Mt Henry Clay. This high-relief geography illustrates the drainage patterns of the upper Klehini River valley near the Alaskan border.
