The Salt Road Post Office and the small settlement of Smallett sit along the winding courses of South Spring Creek in this Ozark County landscape. The terrain is defined by a series of prominent elevations and ridges, including Haden Bald, Bristle Ridge, and Caudle Ridge, which dictate the paths of the local road network. These ridges separate the numerous hollows and branches, such as Sugar Tree Hollow and Maloney Hollow, that drain into the Little North Fork White River.
