Katemcy Rocks and the surrounding ranchlands of the Texas Hill Country define this landscape at the boundary of McCulloch and Mason counties. The area is characterized by a dense network of seasonal drainages, including Tiger Creek and Sandy Creek, which flow through a terrain marked by distinctive granite formations like those found near Flat Rock. Settlement is sparse, with the local history preserved in small family and community burial grounds such as Blackjack Cemetery, Tabor Mountain Cemetery, and Wagram Cemetery.
