The Calapooya Mountains and Staley Ridge dominate this high-elevation landscape along the boundary of Lane and Douglas counties. A network of Forest Service development roads, such as Nat Forest Develop Road 2133 Rd, weaves through the steep drainages of the Middle Fork Willamette River and its tributaries. The topography is marked by distinctive rock formations and clearings, including Steeple Rock, Dome Rock, and Bulldog Rock.
