Talapoosa (Mining District) anchors the northern high ground of the Virginia Range, where mining activity is evidenced by numerous prospects, the Dyke Adit, and the Christianson Shaft. To the south, the landscape shifts into the broad expanse of Stagecoach Valley and Stockton Flat, where the burgeoning residential grids of Silver Springs and Stagecoach begin to take shape. These desert communities are organized along a series of named avenues such as Dayton Ave and Twain Ave.
