Sunshine Ridge rises above the arid plateau of northern Mohave County, where the desert floor is defined by a network of seasonal watercourses and remote catchments. The primary drainage of Bulrush Wash cuts through the landscape, passing through Bulrush Canyon and the expansive Wild Band Valley. Water management in this dry region is evidenced by several named reservoirs, including CCC Trail Reservoir, Tom Lamb Reservoir, and Jackson Reservoir, which likely served ranching or conservation needs in the mid-20th century. High points like Cedar Knoll provide vantage points over the surrounding canyons, such as Grama Canyon and Hack Canyon. This 2018 survey also tracks the path of Co Hwy 109 as it traverses the public land survey system grid across multiple townships.
