Sutcliffe occupies a narrow shelf of land along the western shore of Pyramid Lake within the expansive Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation. This 1980 survey reveals a landscape defined by the stark transition from the waters of the basin to the steep slopes of the Virginia Mountains. Settlement is concentrated at the lakeshore, where infrastructure like a Landing Strip and Well support the local community.
