Swan Peak dominates the high terrain of the Swan Range in this contemporary study of the western boundary of the Bob Marshall Wilderness. This landscape is defined by steep drainage basins and sharp ridgelines where Flathead National Forest lands meet the county line between Flathead and Lake counties. The presence of the Lion-Palisade Trl suggests a terrain accessible primarily by foot or horseback, tracing the contours below Van Peak and through the headwaters of Lion Creek.
