The Continental Divide crests through this high-altitude landscape of the Wind River Range, where the boundary between Fremont Co and Sublette County meets the intersection of Shoshone National Forest and Bridger National Forest. The terrain is defined by dramatic peaks and passes, most notably the Sweetwater Needles and the towering Atlantic Peak. A network of glacial drainage systems feeds the Sweetwater River and the Little Sweetwater River, with tributaries like Pool Cr and Larsen Cr carving through the granite slopes.
