Surveyed in the early 1950s, the map reveals a landscape defined by glacial activity and remote outposts, including a Customhouse near the river bend and various homestead entries like HES No 108. The terrain is dominated by the massive Hole-in-the-Wall Glacier and the high peak of Mount Swineford, which overlooks the elongated Turner Lake. The presence of several isolated cabins and named water features such as Davidson Creek and Swineford Lakes indicates the early mid-century patterns of trapping, recreation, and border transit in the Tongass National Forest.
