Denali National Park encompasses the northwest corner of this quadrangle, where the massive Kahiltna Glacier feeds into the broad, braided channels of the Kahiltna River. The landscape is defined by the heavy sediment of this glacial system, which has formed significant river features like Gilson Bar and Hansen Bar. To the east, the terrain rises into a series of steep drainages with names that evoke the region's prospecting heritage, including Ruby Gulch, Cheechako Gulch, and Sourdough Gulch.
