About this map

Lake Chauekuktuli dominates the central basin of this Alaskan interior landscape, acting as a massive catchment for the drainage systems coming off the surrounding peaks. To the north, the elevation rises sharply toward the summit of Ongutvak Mtn, while the far northeast corner of the sheet is defined by the course of the Allen River. This 2019 survey illustrates the characteristic glacial hydrology of the Dillingham Census Area, where wide, elongated lakes are flanked by steep ridges. The land is divided into the Public Land Survey System grids of t1s r55w, t1s r54w, t2s r55w, and t2s r54w, reflecting the formal mapping of this roadless wilderness area.
