Nellis Air Force Range and the Nevada Test Site meet in this high-altitude desert landscape, characterized by the prominent volcanic terrain of Yucca Mountain. The survey, field-checked in 1961, documents a complex network of dry washes and canyons, including Beatty Wash and Claim Canyon, which cut through the arid ridges. A distinctive east-west formation known as Pinnacle Ridge bisects the center of the sheet, marked by several vertical control points such as VABM Zim 6584.
