Deschutes National Forest and the Three Sisters Wilderness define the landscape in this late 1980s provisional survey of the Cascade foothills. The hydrology of the region is centered on Tumalo Creek, which flows past a Gaging Station and Dam shortly after its descent at Tumalo Falls. The network of 4wd tracks and trails provides access to high-elevation backcountry resources, including the Swede Ridge Shelter and Tumalo Falls Shelter. High points like Triangle Hill and Bearwallow Butte rise above the drainage basins of the North Fork and Middle Fork. This map records the wilderness infrastructure of the era, from established camps like Driftwood Campground near Three Creek Lake to various isolated water sources such as Jack Pine Spring and Farewell Spring.
