About this map

The Unalakleet River dominates the northwest corner of this remote Alaskan interior, where it meets its northern tributary, the N Fork Unalakleet River. Moving eastward through the mountainous terrain, the drainage systems define the landscape as the Old Woman River carves a significant valley through the eastern half of the quadrangle. This 2015 survey, produced by the U.S. Geological Survey, illustrates the complex hydrology and elevation contours of the region before the small tributary of Stove Cr in the south. The map provides a detailed record of the public land survey system divisions, including t18s r7w and t18s r6w, marking the administrative boundaries in a territory otherwise defined by its wild river networks and high ridges.
