Tehuacana and the surrounding prairie of the Texas Blackland Belt are defined by an intricate network of water management features and creek systems along the Navarro Co and Limestone Co border. The landscape is dotted with numerous Soil Conservation Service reservoirs, such as Site 26 Reservoir and Site 15 Reservoir, which regulate the flow of Pin Oak Creek and Elm Creek. These engineering efforts transformed the agricultural viability of the region, supporting local communities like Union High and Rodney.
