Ottoway Valley stretches across this interior portion of the Copper River region, defined by its high-elevation drainage systems and prominent summits. The landscape is carved by Chultikana Cr, which flows southward through the valley floor before reaching the Klutina River at the southern edge of the survey. Significant peaks including Mt Carter, Sunny Peak, and Dowling Peak provide fixed geographical landmarks across the township lines. This 2016 survey by the U.S. Geological Survey captures the untouched wilderness of the Unorganized Borough, documenting the natural hydrologic patterns and terrain relief of the Alaskan backcountry before modern development or shifts in the glacial-fed waterways.
