Wamic and the surrounding high plains of Wasco County are defined by a complex network of irrigation and water management features. The landscape transitions from the eastern edge of the Mount Hood National Forest toward the open expanses of Juniper Flat and Smock Prairie. Central to the area's development is the Pine Hollow Reservoir, supported by an intricate system of water transit including the Threemile Ditch, Rock Cr Ditch, and the southern Wapinitia Canal.
