The White River flows through the northern reaches of this landscape, carving a path through the high desert of the Uintah Basin along the border of Utah and Colorado. The terrain is defined by the prominent Weaver Ridge and a complex network of drainages including Weaver Canyon and Cripple Horse Canyon. This 2023 survey illustrates the remote, high-altitude character of the region, where the Uintah County and Rio Blanco County line intersects the state boundary.

Transportation in this area is limited to rugged corridors such as Dragon Rd and Hells Hole Canyon Rd. The southern portion of the map is dominated by the Gilsonite Hills and Gilsonite Draw, names that point to the historical mining of gilsonite, a unique solid hydrocarbon found in vertical veins throughout this part of the state. One isolated area simply labeled Repentance sits amidst the deep cuts of Hells Hole Canyon.
