The North Fork White River and East Fork White River converge near the historic site of Fort Apache, a central point of this 2018 survey. The landscape is defined by elevated terrain such as Nan Dahs Taan Mesa and Gaan Be Ti Ye Mesa, interspersed with deep canyons like Bourke Canyon and Nash Canyon. Settlements are concentrated along the river valleys and roads, including the hub of Whiteriver and the nearby Rainbow City. Local history is preserved in several burial grounds, from the Whiteriver Cem to the Bush Flat Cem near East Fork. The map also details essential community infrastructure like the Whiteriver Airport and numerous water management features such as Sevenmile Tank and Agency Tank.
