The Alapaha River snakes through the center of this South Georgia landscape, defining the winding boundary between Atkinson and Berrien counties. The town of Willacoochee serves as the primary hub, situated where the Seaboard Coast Line railroad intersects with local transit routes. A notable feature just west of town is the Death Age Cem, a site of significant interest for local genealogists, located near the Roadside Park.
