Winchester and the small community of Forest anchor this high-plateau landscape along the Nez Perce and Lewis County line. The terrain is defined by deep drainage systems including Webb Cr, Mill Cr, and Mission Cr, which carve through the elevations south of the Camas Prairie. A network of rural and forestry routes, such as Mc Cormick Ridge Rd and Soldiers Meadow Rd, trace the natural contours of the ridges, providing access to the more remote corners of the Nez Perce Reservation area.
