Oologah Lake dominates the western half of this Rogers County landscape, its irregular shoreline forming numerous inlets and peninsulas that reflect the inundation of the Verdigris River valley. The small community of Winganon sits just inland from the lake's eastern edge, serving as a focal point for a network of rural roads that follow the section lines of the Cherokee Nation's historic tribal lands. The eastern portion of the map reveals a more dissected terrain where Spencer Creek and Plumb Cr carve through the limestone uplands.
