About this map

Zionsville and Whitestown anchor this mid-1960s landscape, which documents the expansion of suburban residential areas and the infrastructure of central Indiana. The southern portion of the map is dominated by the Eagle Creek Reservoir and the extensive Eagle Creek Park, which drastically reshaped the local terrain around Traders Point and the Traders Hollow. Purple photorevisions show the subsequent growth of newer subdivisions like Northwest Manor, Legendary Hills, and Lakeside as the area integrated further into the greater Indianapolis metro region.
