Almira sits at the heart of this Big Bend Country landscape, serving as a hub for the surrounding agricultural lands of Lincoln and Grant Counties. The town’s grid is clearly defined by streets such as W Main St and W Chestnut St, while the Almira Cem rests to the southwest. The geography is marked by significant drainages and seasonal water bodies that characterize this part of the Columbia Plateau, including the winding path of Wilson Creek and the notable Wilson Creek Falls. To the east of the main settlement, a series of small lakes—Slaughterhouse Lake, Halfway Lake, and Icehouse Lake—point to historical land uses and localized water resources. The terrain is further defined by deep coulee-like features such as Childers Draw and Corbett Draw, which dictate the placement of rural routes like Old Coulee Rd and Hanson Station Rd.
