Almont serves as the primary hub in this portion of Morton County, situated along the upper reaches of the Big Muddy Cr drainage system. The landscape is defined by its significant topographic elevations, most notably the high points of White Butte and Antelope Butte which overlook a network of section-line roads and rural connectors like Valley Rd and Sims Rd. To the southeast, the terrain transitions into the Curlew Valley, marking the boundary transition where the survey meets the northern edge of Grant County.
