2014 Map of Alton

USGS Topo · Published 2014

About this map

The town of Alton occupies a high-elevation valley in southwestern Utah, where the headwaters of Kanab Cr descend from the surrounding canyons. This landscape is defined by the dramatic ascent to the Paunsaugunt Plateau, marked by the brilliant Pink Cliffs and Sunset Cliffs that dominate the eastern and southern horizons. Much of the surrounding area is protected within the Dixie National Forest, which covers the heavily dissected terrain of Birch Canyon, Right Hand Canyon, and Reservoir Canyon.
