Angel Draw and the surrounding drainage network of Palmilla Draw and Scanlon Draw dominate this portion of the Eddy County landscape. The arid terrain is marked by seasonal water features and natural depressions, most notably the Alkali Lake basin and the wide expanse of Saladar Flat. In the northern section, topographic relief is provided by Indian Hill and the linear formation of Away Ridge.
