Bluegrass Ridge and the high peaks of the Mount Hood Wilderness define this high-altitude landscape where the headwaters of several major drainages begin. The area is characterized by a network of meadows that served as historical landmarks and camping spots, including Elk Meadows, Horsethief Meadows, and Bonney Meadows. These open spaces are connected by a legacy trail system, with the Bluegrass Ridge Trl and Gumjuwac Trl navigating the complex topography between Lookout Mtn and Gunsight Butte.
