The Noatak National Preserve encompasses much of this remote landscape in the Northwest Arctic Borough, where high-elevation terrain dictates the flow of several primary waterways. The Eli River meanders across the central and northern sections of the quadrangle, serving as a significant geographical anchor. Further south and east, the drainage system includes the headwaters of the N Fork Squirrel River and smaller tributaries such as Akikukchiak Cr and Okiotak Cr. This 2015 survey illustrates a wilderness area defined by the Public Land Survey System grids of T27N R13W and T26N R12W, where the lack of roads or permanent settlements highlights the protected status of the preserve and its untouched natural environment.
