About this map

The South Fork Cumberland River carves a deep path through this borderland, where the state line between Kentucky and Tennessee meets the boundary of the Cumberland National Forest. The landscape is dominated by high, branching plateaus such as Hatfield Ridge and Chestnut Ridge, which separate the myriad creek drainages feeding the river. These narrow valleys provided secluded locations for early community life, evidenced by the Station Camp Sch near the mouth of Station Camp Creek and the No Business Sch along the curiously named No Business Creek.
