The high plains of the Carbon Co Albany Co line meet the northern reaches of the Medicine Bow Mountains in this 2021 study of the Wyoming landscape. The terrain is defined by a complex network of water management, where numerous irrigation channels such as Dutton Cr Ditch, Symes and Deerlove Ditch, and Northrop Ditch Number 5 crisscross the drainage basins of Dutton Cr and Cooper Cr.

At the heart of the area, Bengough Hill rises as a primary landmark overlooking the Bosler Reservoir and King Reservoir Number One. The landscape is etched with historical grazing and water rights infrastructure, including the Beaver Ponds near the western edge. Transportation is anchored by Carbon Co Road 15, which cuts diagonally through the townships, providing access to this high-elevation ranching and watershed district.
