Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park encompasses nearly the entirety of this Alaskan landscape, dominated by massive glacial systems and high-altitude terrain. The massive Bering Glacier flows into the northern reaches of the map, fed in part by the immense Bagley Ice Valley which cuts across the upper sections. To the south, the Yahtse Glacier pushes through the valley floors, illustrating the dynamic ice movements that define this portion of the Saint Elias Mountains. Between these ice fields, the prominent Barkley Ridge rises as a topographical anchor, showing the intricate contour work required to map such extreme elevation changes. This 2017 survey provides a precise look at the glaciated topography of the Yakutat City and Borough before contemporary shifts in ice coverage significantly altered these ancient flow paths.
