Ouachita National Forest covers much of this McCurtain County landscape, where the E Fork Glover River and several tributaries define the topography. Small communities such as Bethel and Sherwood serve as anchors in the northern half of the quadrangle, while Mount Herman is located further south along the primary road network. Genealogists and local historians can find two important burial sites: Bethel Cem in the northwest and Sherwood Cem near the eastern border.
