Patton Bay and the larger Gulf of Alaska define the coastline of this coastal wilderness within the Chugach National Forest. The landscape is shaped by dynamic glacial and fluvial systems, including the Beach River, Nellie Martin River, and the aptly named Braided Creek. These watercourses flow toward the indented shoreline of Logjam Bay, where the prominent landmark Pointed Rock stands near the harbor entrance.
