Boise Lake and the agricultural lands of the southern Minnesota prairie define this landscape along the border of Redwood and Brown Counties. The terrain is characterized by a network of drainage systems and natural waterways, including the winding path of Sleepy Eye Creek, Spring Creek, and the man-made Redwood Brown Ditch Number One. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, the infrastructure of the early 21st century is evident where Us-14 and MN-258 intersect, providing a vital corridor for this rural farming region.
