Hulah Lake dominates this northern Osage County landscape, created by the Hulah Dam across the Caney River. The settlement of Hulah sits just east of the dam, while the community of Bowring occupies the southwestern corner of the quadrangle. The surrounding terrain is defined by a network of drainage systems, including Mission Creek, Opossum Creek, and Coon Creek, which feed into the central reservoir and river valley.
