Puddin Ridge and a complex network of high-elevation drainages define this portion of the western slope where the Rio Blanco County and Garfield County line cuts across the landscape. The geography is dominated by deeply incised gulches, including Whiskey Gulch, Enoch Gulch, and Scandard Gulch, which channel seasonal runoff into larger water systems. To the west, Hunter Creek and its branches, East Hunter Creek and West Hunter Creek, carve through the terrain, while the central and eastern sections are defined by the various forks of Willow Creek.
