The Washita River snakes across the southern edge of this Garvin County landscape, anchoring a region defined by its complex network of water management sites. In the years following the mid-century, numerous reservoirs were established to control the local watershed, including Pauls Valley Lake and a series of numbered flood control structures like Peavine Creek Site 7 Reservoir and Washington Creek Site 1 Reservoir. These additions transformed the drainage patterns of Washington Cr and Peavine Cr.
