Chikamin Peak and the surrounding high-elevation terrain of the Cascade Range are documented in this 2011 survey. The landscape is defined by its complex hydrology and drainage basins, where Gold Creek flows southward toward the valley floor, collecting runoff from numerous alpine basins. These basins house a network of small water bodies including Spectacle Lake, Gravel Lake, and Alaska Lake, which sit at various elevations separated by prominent landforms such as Chikamin Ridge and Rampart Ridge.
