Clairemont stands at the southeastern edge of this 1960s West Texas landscape, serving as a focal point for an area defined by mid-century petroleum extraction. The terrain is dominated by the Salt Creek Oil Field and the Clairemont North Oil Field, where a network of pipelines and wells crisscrosses the drainages of Salt Creek and Fourmile Creek. Industrial infrastructure is a primary feature of the local economy, including a Refinery in the northwest and a Pumping Sta located near the town center.

The Salt Fork Brazos River carves a distinctive path through the northern half of the sheet, its meandering course providing a sharp contrast to the geometric property lines and straight-line oil field development.
